Frequently asked questions

How do I start?

Main menu › Quickstart starts a game right away; Start new game lets you choose the map, difficulty, speed, nations and victory types. The built-in encyclopedia explains every unit, building, technology and rule.

How do I play with friends on one device?

Start a new game and set two or more players to “Human”. Each player takes their turn in order on the same device.

How do I save a game?

Open the menu during a game and choose Save game, enter a name and save. The game is also saved automatically as you play; turn on “Show autosaves” in Load game to see those saves. To continue, choose Load game in the main menu and pick a save.

Where are my saves?

On your device, in the app's storage. They also appear in the Files app under On My iPhone (or On My iPad) › Unciv 4X › Saves. Deleting the app deletes them, so keep a copy of important saves first: Save game › Save to custom location, or Load game › Copy saved game to clipboard. Load game › Load from custom location or Load copied data brings them back.

How do I change the language?

Options › Language. Translations are made by the Unciv community; text that is not translated yet is shown in English.

How do I report a problem?

Write to info@aiart.limited and tell us your device, its iOS version and the app version (Options › About), what you did and what happened. If the problem happens in a game, attach the save (copy it with Load game › Copy saved game to clipboard and paste it into the email, or attach the file from Files › Unciv 4X › Saves). A screenshot helps too.
